Gotta love oldies but goodies

So for the last few months I have been digging out old stuff in my basement and repurposing them into some new items.

This lovely wreath is made from a bunch of old glass Christmas bulbs and the angel in the center is the tree topper from our Christmas tree when we were younger.  Love it.

How about this one?  Love the bells on the top.  Not sure if I am going to sell it or give it to my brother for his house.

This is a tree that I made with the red and gold bulbs I had.  I sold this to one of the ladies at work.

What fun I have had working on these.

Nov 3 - I bought a fat quarter

So my fabric fast was broken a few weeks ago by buying a fat quarter. It was that fisher price toy fabric that I saw months ago and Judy at Sew What in Wyandotte had some.  I don’t think this is too bad. I continue to work at whittling down my stash.  Here is a Jacob’s Ladder quilt I am working on.

I am enjoying my time creating items from what I have at home. I have been busy with my glue gun and a bunch of old glass Christmas bulbs.

The angel in the middle of this wreath was on our Christmas Tree for many years growing up.  The bulbs are a collection of old bulbs from my grandparents and some I have found at estate sales.

2020 Fabric Fast

So whoever admits to knowing me knows that I have a large stash of fabric.  This stash is wonderful but can also be an anchor around my neck.  I have resolved to make 2020 the year that I help to relieve the weight of this anchor.  I have resolved to only use the fabric and supplies that I have on hand (the only exception will be quilting thread as I may not have enough variety of colors for the projects I will be quilting).

This Fabric Fast is going to be good for me in many ways.  Not only will I be saving some money by not spending as much on fabrics, but it will also force me to think outside the box on some projects and that is not a bad idea.

Here are two Christmas stockings I made for a co-worker and her husband for their first Christmas together...
  Here is Adams
And here is Sam's

What was fun about making these is first of all, I love the couple who was receiving them.  So that helps.  Also, all the fabric, buttons and embellishments came from my own stash.  I did not have to purchase one thing for them.  How cool is that?  I also loved that as I was making them I was thinking and praying for Sam and Adam.  That made it extra special.

So here we are 3 days into 2020 and so far so good.

Happy New Year.

Newbie poster here

This is my first posting for MeSueCreates.  I am learning this whole process so please be patient with me.  I want to be able to share my love of creating a variety of things and hope to inspire others.  Here is my first attempt at collage piecing with Trish Stuart in Grand Rapids this past summer.
